Here are a few words from Daisy's owner, Cathy Aubley of Roswell, GA:
Daisy has 11 students that take turns reading to her at our local Elementary School. Most of these kids do not like to, or have trouble reading.
One boy was reading to Daisy one day, a book called, "The Family Circus Dog." There is a part in the story where the dog yawns. Well, Daisy yawns, and the boy was really surprised. Then, he read on, and the dog in the story rolls over on it's back. Well, Daisy rolls over on her back. This lovely little boy was so excited that Daisy was acting out the story. He has gone from no reading, to a "can't wait to read" reader. This was truly a "God" moment. I always pray before going to the school, and on this particular day God revealed something very special through this very special dog.
Everyone that meets Daisy, comments that there is something special about her. I say, she is a special Newf, with a special job, blessed by God!
Last week she started barking after a child began reading a story about monsters. He looked at her and said, " Daisy, this is a story, it is not real". The next child came in and started reading a different book but it was about monsters too, and of course she started barking again. She never barks...at school anyway. Well, I told him what she did earlier and he tossed the book back in the pile and said, "Well, if she is afraid of monsters I am not going to keep reading THIS book to her!". Later I saw the principle, and he said they were having a meeting with the head of the school district in the next room and they heard Daisy barking. I told him the story ready to apologize when he just cracked up! "What an experience for the children!!" he said.
